All three winners had game winning drives late in their games with the Broncos being the only losers of the bunch. The Chiefs came roaring back on the Broncos with 2 touchdowns in the 4th for their 27-23 win, the Chargers got their game winning field goal in the 4th quarter for their 29-27 win, and the Raiders need overtime to beat the Browns 45-42.StandingsKansas City Chiefs 4-0 (Div 2-0)Denver Broncos 2-2 (Div 1-1)Los Angeles Chargers 2-2 (Div 0-1)Oakland Raiders 1-3 (Div 0-1)How we got here:Kansas City Chiefs beat Denver Broncos 27-23The Kansas Chiefs remain undefeated after their improbable comeback against the Denver Broncos, they were on the ropes trailing 23-13 before rattling off two late touchdowns for the victory. Patrick Mahomes stats came back to earth in this one with him going 28 of 45 for 304 yards and throwing just one touchdown.However, he got a lot of help from his running game instead with Kareem Hunt having 121 yards on 19 carries with 1 touchdown and Mahomes himself running in another touchdown as well. They actually started out this game responding to a Broncos field goal with a field goal and Mahomes running touchdown to take a 10-3 lead.Then the back and forth started because Denver followed that up with a touchdown and a field goal of their own to retake the lead 13-10. Kansas City tied it at 13 before Denver added on 10 more points to take the commanding 23-13 lead which they ended up squandering when KC got two 4th quarter touchdowns to win with a late comeback.Denver was relying on both of their impressive rookie running backs for much of their damage with Royce Freeman having 8 carries for 67 yards and TD along with Phillip Lindsay finishing with 12 carries for 69 yards and a TD. Case Keenum didn’t have a great day going 21 of 33 for 245 yards no touchdowns and an interception but with what they accomplished in the running game it should have been enough to win if the defense could have just made some late stops.Los Angeles Chargers beat the San Francisco 49ers 29-27Everyone thought the 49ers would just fold up and quit after Jimmy Garrapolo was lost for the year to a knee injury, but they came out swinging against the Chargers with back up turned starter C.J. Beathard. They scored first with an interception returned for a touchdown and then again after a quick 44 yard drive was capped by a 2 yard TD pass from Beathard. The Chargers responded with a touchdown drive of their own with an Antonio Gates touchdown reception, just another one to add to his hall of fame career, but they missed their extra point so it was 14-6 San Francisco.The 49ers added to the lead with a field goal to make it 17-6 but it was on a 21 play drive so that was actually a win for the Chargers after holding them to just 3. The Chargers then took the lead with 20 straight unanswered points.San Francisco wasn’t done though, they scored on an 82 yard touchdown pass to TE George Kittle and added a field goal to regain the lead 27-26. It wasn’t enough though, Rivers led the Chargers down for another field goal to retake the lead 29-27 and held on to win the game after that. It was a great effort from C.J. Beathard in the loss, but they couldn’t quite do enough to hold on for the improbable victory.Oakland Raiders beat the Cleveland Browns 45-42What a doozie of a game this was for the Oakland Raiders. It was a wild roller coaster ride for them and the Browns, taking overtime before finally being settled in the end by a Raiders field goal. It had looked like the Raiders were doomed several times, but they scored 21 points in the 4th quarter to force overtime and squeak out the win.Oakland actually started out with the lead thanks to Gareon Conley having his first pick 6 when he intercepted rookie Baker Mayfield and returned it for a touchdown. However Antonio Brown Jersey White , the Browns scored 17 unanswered points after that to take the 17-7 lead before the Raiders scored again on an Amari Cooper touchdown reception.The Browns then got a field goal, a touchdown and a 2 point conversion to take a commanding 28-14 lead in the 3rd quarter. That’s when things got fun though, because the Raiders came roaring back with 20 unanswered points to retake the lead 34-28. The Browns were done though, they scored two touchdowns of their own to seemingly put away the Raiders 42-34.The Oakland defense finally got a huge stop though and got the ball back with under 2 minutes to go. Then Derek Carr proceeded to lead the Raiders down the field in under a minute to score a touchdown to Jared Cook and then tie the game with a 2 point conversion pass to Jordy Nelson. Then the defense forced overtime with a late Reggie Nelson interception to end the Browns chances of winning in regulation.It took almost all of overtime before the game was finally decided by a Raiders field goal in the final 2 minutes. After it was mostly defense for the first two possessions the Raiders offense took control thanks to some tough running from Marshawn Lynch who had his best game as a Raiders with 20 carries for 130 yards and 3 receptions for 27. It was his last beastmode run of 11 yards that secured the game winning field goal with the 45-42 victory. Hours after the Patriots escaped the Rams in a 13-3 snoozefest in Super Bowl 53, the oddsmakers were busy updating their Super Bowl 54 odds. to the Conference Championship games, not a whole lot had changed as far as the Raiders’ position in the odds.
